HISTORY OF VAUGOUARD

A STORY THAT TRAVELS THROGUH TIME

THE ESTATE OF VAUGOUARD

The construction of the castle began in 1750, at the request of Colonel de Salis Samade, commander of the Swiss regiment of Salis Samade Grisoirs. This regiment was in charge of protecting the King of France, and had an important role during the French revolution, being in charge of protecting the Bastille in 1789.

In 1789, Colonel de Salis Samade transferred the estate to his nephew, Baron Henri de Triqueti. A student of the famous sculptor Anne-Louis Girodet, Triqueti was commissioned to design the bronze doors of the Madeleine church in Paris. Close to the King's family, he offered Domaine de Vaugouard in 1838 to the Duke of Orléans, the eldest son of King Louis Philippe I, to make it a hunting ground.

The various seminar rooms, the swimming pool, the sauna and the fitness room blend into this historic setting without altering it, and the 18-hole golf course offers well-deserved moments of relaxation. A bar, a tennis court and a petanque court are also available for guests. You will find at Domaine de Vaugouard a high quality of service, and all the refinement of a castle hotel.

A VARIED RANGE OF ACTIVITIES

EXPERIENCES

The 18-hole golf course at Domaine de Vaugouard was designed by Adam and Fromanger in 1987. First crossing a very wooded environment, the last 9 holes are more hilly and decorated with many water features to cross, making them quite technical. To vary the pleasures, a tennis court, petanque court, fitness room, sauna and swimming pool offer many activities. Finally, the region also offers great opportunities for walks and cultural discoveries, for which our team will be happy to advise you.

Come and enjoy a golf or relaxation stay 1 hour from Paris!
